Sharing your videos on LinkedIn

You’ve recorded, and now you’re ready to share! Here are some tips to sharing your video on LinkedIn.

📲 Export video to your camera roll

First things first — export your video to your camera roll.

That way you can upload the video natively onto LinkedIn. You can always airdrop it to your computer or upload to Google Drive if you plan on posting using desktop.

✍🏻 Outline your post

The post should describe the high-level context of the conversation behind the video:

  • What was the topic?

  • Why did you choose to talk about this?

  • What were the key points?

Keep the post short and sweet — and use bullet points to break up the text.

🪝 Write your hook

Once you’ve written your post, go back to the top and write your hook.

The hook is the first sentence of your post. Make sure it’s a standalone paragraph — LinkedIn truncates the post so you want to make sure your hook easily grabs the attention of your audience.

Here are some examples:

  • A particularly insightful quote from the video

  • A bold or spicy statement related to the topic

  • Why your viewers should pay attention to the conversation

And remember, keep your hook relevant to your video!

✅ Now hit post

PSA: Turn off closed captioning when you upload your video! Jams auto captions your video so there’s no need for double captioning 😉

And you’re done!
